Giles Roy presents a program on the history of the Erie Canal through the Cazenovia College Extended Learning Program. The course focuses on the idea and concept of the canal. This course will introduce students to the challenges of building the Erie Canal and the work obstacles they had to overcome. Learn what the challenges were and how obstacles were conquered.

The museum will be hosting an archives class. The class will be on the Preservation of Historic Records and will be put on by Dr. Suzanne Etherington, our Region 9 Archivist. This workshop will explore the fundamentals of preserving records. Where and how archival records are stored, and how they are handled, are key elements in prolonging their lives. Participants may bring examples of records needing preservation for an open discussion period. Seating is limited and registration is required.
